Teddy's first backpacking trip. We took the Laguna and Fire Lane trails out to
Coast Camp, dropped the packs, and had the beach almost to ourselves. Tide
was low enough to walk down to Sculptured Beach and poke around the tide pools.
Fog rolled in overnight, clouds of it pouring over the ridge, and we cooked
dinner in the last of the light. Easy miles, big payoff — a great intro overnight
that's close to home.
Highlight: Teddy spotting a bobcat on the Fire Lane Trail.
Gear note: windbreak matters — Coast Camp is exposed once the sea breeze picks up.
